Welcome to another cool automation use case! 😎 Let's get started right away.
‼️ Don't forget to always test your triggers and actions before you continue to the next step.
Step 1: Trigger
Let's start setting up the trigger! After you have chosen your app, event and account. Click on Set up trigger.
Step 2: Set up trigger
Make sure you're selecting the correct Board you want to work in. The List is also very important because it's basically what you're trigger is all about. In this case, every time a card is moved from To Do to Ready to Publish a video will be created. Last but not least, select Any Card under the Card option.
This is what our Trello board looks like:
Step 3: Custom Request
This will be your second action and for this one, you'll need to choose Webhooks by Zapier and under the Action Event select Custom Request.
Step 4: Set up action
Make sure you follow the following format to set up your action correctly! Below you'll find the URL needed to continue:
Now this step is a bit different since all the raw data is going to be in your Trello card under Description.
"Media 1": "car",
"Media 2": "car",
"Media 3": "car",
"Text 1": "Driver's wanted.",
"Text 2": "Build Ford Tough!",
"Text 3": "The Power of Dreams.",
"Title 1": "Volkswagen",
"Title 2": "Ford",
"Title 3": "Honda",
"TextStyle": "Criss Cross",
"Video Shape": "9:16",
Once you've done this, just select Card Desc in the Data section.
Make sure you've put the correct team ID and API auth. token under Headers. If you don't know where to find these check out this tutorial.
Step 5: Delay For
This will be your third action and in this case, we decided to delay it for 2 minutes! However, you can choose your own value and unit.
Step 6: Get
For this one, you'll need to choose Webhooks by Zapier and under the Action Event select Get.
Step 7: Set up action
Here you just need to be aware of the URL. For this one, you'll need to change the last bit of it and add the Success Code from the second action (Custom Request).
Also, make sure you add the Headers again, same ones you used before and test!
If you wish, you can add another step to post the final result to any social media platform or you can proceed to automatically move the card in Trello and update its content. Follow along to see how we do this!
Step 8: Select Move Card to List in Trello
Now choose Trello and under Action Event select Move Card to List.
Step 9: Set up action
Make sure you select the correct Board and choose the list you want your card to move from and the list you want your card to move to.
In this case, we chose to move the card from Ready to Publish to Done/Published.
Step 10: Select Update Card in Trello
Continue to add another action and select Update Card under Action Event. The app remains the same as the previous one.
Step 11: Set up action
Make sure, once again, you select the correct Board and the List your card's information will be updated in.
Here just select the information you want your card to be updated with, in this case, we chose Data Landing and Data Download Link.
Once, you test, this information should show in the card's description in Trello just like seen below:
👉 Check out our final video here.
And that's it! You're ready to create videos every time a card is moved from one list to another in Trello and update it when it's ready. Great to keep your team or users updated! Cool, right? 😉
